Last two years I trailered the boat down south for sailing in the Stockholm archipelago, but this year I decided to stay in the north.
A long days of sailing noth of my home harbor is the south part of the Swedish High Coast, a very beautiful part of the northern coast that is very defined by the last ice age. This part of the coast has a noticeable land uplift of 8-8,5mm each year. The coast is very beautiful to sail.
I had a five days sailing with a mix of light winds and challenging weather. I spent one full 24 hours in a small natural harbor in a protected bay together with two more boats when wind was forecasted to be up to 20m/s in the gusts.
My last night was spent sailing down south towards my home port in nice winds, arriving in my last guest port on the trip after midnight just after sun has set.

In the area where I live we do not have any archipelago, but I live 400 km north of Stockholm where there is a very nice archipelago. This is the main reson for buying a trailerable sailboat, be able to move to more fun waters. So this summer I took the boat on the trailer down south to Stockholm archipelago again. The archipelago is big with so many islands and nice waters to sail. I also have a brother who's family have nice summer house in the north outer archipelago witch I had as base this time.

Sadly, the last day of actual sailing before a short leg next day back to the harbor with the ramp where I left my trailer, I run aground. I passed a very narrow and difficult passage on the way in to the bay at my brothers place, I sailed under only gennaker and run aground on an uncharted rock. It was on the borderline that I should have passed over it, I guess that around 10 cm of water depth was missing as the keel bulb slided up on the rock. The boat came to a dead stop, twisted around 90 degrees and then slided of the rock. Back at dock I dove under the boat, and the keel bulb have scraping marks underneath but looks unharmed in the front. Sadly when the boat came to a stop, the living force in the mast with gennaker put too much force on the mast support under deck and the mast support mounting cracked. At this time is unclear how severe the damage is.

2019 was my first summer with this boat, with one trip to Stockholm Archipelago for a weeks sailing. Stockholm Archipelago is a beautiful area for sailing. I loaded the boat on the trailer on a boat ramp in Sundsvall, drove the 400 km down to northern part of Stockholm Archipelago and used a local boat ramp to launch the boat. I used my home built crane to rigg the boat solo, and it worked very well.

The week started with lot of wind, and I had the first day solo before my only crew joined. With a for me new boat, rather overpowered in brisker winds it was a challenge, I had to get used to put in revs rather early. I need to learn how to trim the boat in more wind, and the need for installing cunningham and a way to maintain forestay tension was obvious.
The rest of the week offered nice sailing weather, lighter winds that the Elan 210 really loves. Reaching under gennaker in the beautiful archipelago in nice weather is wonderful.
We came back to the small harbor where I launched and we used a few hours to pack up the boat and get her ready for trailer transport home. This first trip really show that the boat is perfect for me. Easy to load up on a trailer and transport to interesting sailing areas, nice living conditions for two persons even for a week and nice sailing.
